Synchronic BOV Subaru WRX


This is a different version of the Subaru video comparing the Tial 50mm BOV with the Synapse Synchronic SB001 BOV. Test vehicle is a Subaru WRX with Garrett GT30R, external wastegate and running 20 psi of boost.

    He’s running a GT30 external. I would assume it’s pretty modified. Whatever it started out as is irrelevant. My friends early 90’s Impreza L FWD now is a 4WD widebody with 450whp 26psi from a rotated GT30 and STI block.

    If you asked what it was he would say an Impreza L.

    Did you notice on the tial bov they would get the turbo to spool a little bitso it wouldnt open the bov but on the syncro they put it to the floor so the bov would open no matter what.

    P.S. I know that you also have a wastegate that works on a similar principle. Do you have a sizing chart for that as well?

    Everything is billet CNC aircraft-grade aluminum. The re-build kit is going to be only $10. And with Synchronic units running millions of cycles now over the years without requiring a rebuild or re-lube, you probably don’t even have to re-build it. No diaphragms to fail!

    Tial makes such a good BOV that Synapse sells hundreds of adapters that let Tial users convert from Tial to Synchonic. Or, in simple terms, Tial doesn’t work.

    This video is rigged. Why is it that when “Brand X” is used, the driver applies light throttle and heavy throttle when the Synchronic BOV is used? More surge is likely when there is only partial boost, which happens when there is only partial throttle.
