Had the same noise with mine right after a rebuild and was pretty pissed to think i had spun a rod or something but turned out to be just a balance shaft bearing so elimated the shafts. loosing a good 15 lbs rotationial mass and gained some power.

  9. jamelinjones says:

definately 100% rod knock, and u prob fucked ur shit more by letting it run, and revin like that genius..drain ur oil and it will have gold flakes from the bearing u spun lol

Hey, I have that problem too… At first I was thinking of the lifters, then the tensioner bearing… But then when I remove the timing belt cover, I discover a leak on the hydraulic auto tensioner…I replace it, now it’s back to normal 4G63 engine sounds

  11. ghostfacetron says:

sounds like a combo of both. haha

  12. jeflagoon says:

sounds like rod knock, start pulling plugs on each cylinder when it gets louder thats the one thats fucked

  13. AOR08 says:

did you replace the Pistons?? one pod could be to big or the piston is to small

  14. chambeers says:

i know its an old vid but ill comment anyways. if you revv it really hard and it is a rod problem. the faulty rod will come out and tell u that it has a problem :)

  18. gearhead632 says:

  19. flowback101 says:

  20. devo4g63 says:

  21. BoOsTFeRLiFeSRT4DSM says:

    rod bearing

  22. paradox616 says:

lol spun a rod… think you mean bearing champ!

  23. vr42000 says:

    hit one valve

  24. 1DjDelta says:

Bearing. You can hear it kinda clanking at idle from 0:20-0:40 and it also clanks when the rpms fall off after he revs.

Lifter tick is more of a tapping sound

  25. garrett6699 says:

sounds like a spun bearing to me! See how when he revs it the sound becomes inconsistent…..its because its a loose(spun) bearing!
