The Toyota Aristo is the Japanese version of the Lexus GS300. In Japan the Toyota Aristo came with 2 engine options. The NA 2JZ-GE and the Twin Turbo 2JZ-GTE from the JZA80 Toyota Supra. In 1992 they offered a All Wheel Drive version what was powered by a 4.0L 1UZ-FE, the same engine used in Lexus LS models aswell as the Toyota Crowne. In the US only a 2JZ-GE model was availible.

The Aristo or Lexus GS became Lexus’ first rear wheel drive 4 sedan. The GS was an upgraded version of the front wheel drive LS. The 2JZ-GE accellerated the Lexus GS300 from 0-60 in just over 9 sec. The interior featured wood trim and accents, premium stereo system, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel with standard driverside and passenger airbags. Some models came with a 12 disc CD changer, moonroof and TRAC(traction control).
